This painting is a favorite from my orientalist period – perhaps because is the only painting I did while staying in France. It was painted in the idyllic little commune of Ermennoville (Oise, France). Plus, I got to stay at the Chateau de Russo (of the French poet Albert Russo). At the time, the school had purchased the property.
